Partnership with SNHH Oncology Nurse Navigation Program
The Jeanie’s Jar of Hope Foundation is proud to announce its first donation to the Legacy Trust of Southern New Hampshire Health and its Oncology Nurse Navigation Program. The foundation plans to partner with the hospital’s newly established program with annual donations targeted toward education related to program needs and palliative care. These programs provide key care management in a cancer patient’s journey. Learn more about Southern NH Health’s program at https://www.facebook.com/snhhealth/videos/247342373789291/
The charitable organization presented a check on Thursday, May 26 to Dr. Gautami Rao, Medical Director of the Medical Oncology Program at the hospital and was joined by key team members, including Lisa Burke, CMA, Jamie Hurlburt, RN, Anne Goudreau, Oncology Nurse Navigator, Marsha Clements, Executive Director, and Paula Taylor, Director of Philanthropy.
Our support of this program aligns perfectly with our foundation’s mission of nurturing hope and enhancing quality of life through compassionate care initiatives,” said Michael Dreyer, President and CEO of the Jeanie’s Jar of Hope Foundation. “We look forward to supporting the program and watching it grow to help bring big-hospital support to patients who want to receive care locally. Nurse navigation provides critical support to patients who often have to coordinate care with multiple providers, potentially for many months or years.”
Established in 2021, Jeanie’s Jar of Hope Foundation honors the legacy of Jeanie Dreyer, who fought multiple myeloma cancer for ten years and never gave up hope. Known for her focus on compassionate care, Dr. Rao played an instrumental role in Jeanie’s care and outlook, especially in the final stages of her illness.
